About Cookies About "Cookies"
About Cookies...  What are "Cookies", and why do I need them to "Login"?

Some Web sites store information in a small text file, called a "cookie".  This is very common, and usually quite safe.

Cookies contain information about you and your preferences when you visit different websites.  For example, when you "Login" to JTAC787.org, a "Cookie" is used to temporarily identify your "Browser Session" as an "authenticated user".

Without a "Cookie", it would be impossible to allow you access to different areas of the website without repeatedly asking you to login again and again for each new page you visit.  However, by using a "Cookie", you only need to login once for each session.  When you "logout", the "Cookie" will be automatically destroyed to protect your account from unauthorized access.  Even if you forget to "logout" from your session, the "Cookie" is designed to expire (or self destruct) after a pre-set time period of non-activity, or as soon as you close your "Browser Window".  This is by design, and helps to ensure security and privacy of your private UA Member information.

This website uses "Friendly" or "Non-Persistent Cookies".  This is good!  This means the "Cookie" is simply stored in the "memory" of your "Browser Window", and nothing is permanently written to your local computer.

For you to Login to the UA Training website, it's necessary for your "Browser Software" to allow or permit the use of "Cookies".  This is easy to do!

Internet Explorer Users Attention Internet Explorer Users
Go to Tools | Internet Options and select the Security tab.  From the "Custom" button, set the option to allow cookies or to ask each time a cookie is set.  If you select the option to ask each time a cookie is used, then you will need to select Yes when requesting a page that shows a cookie being used.  (Some older versions of Internet Explorer may have different steps to access your "Cookies Setting".  Refer to the "Help" menu for your Browser, and search on "Cookies" for more detailed information)
Netscape Users Attention Netscape Users
Select Edit | Preferences and then highlight the Advanced link and select either of the "Accept Cookies" options.  If you set the browser to warn before accepting, then be sure to click yes when alerted that a page is using a cookie. (Some older versions of Netscape may have different steps to access your "Cookies Setting".  Refer to the "Help" menu for your Browser, and search on "Cookies" for more detailed information)
